SSC MTS Recruitment 2023 Notification Overview:

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a detailed notification for the recruitment of Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff, and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) for 2023. A total of 1558 posts are to be filled under the recruitment drive for which 1558 are for MTS and 360 are for Havaldar in CBIC and CBN.

Vacancy Details:

  • MTS: 1198 (approx.)
  • Havaldar in CBIC and CBN : 360*

Tenure of Engagement:

The appointment shall be purely on a regular/permanent basis. The salary will be increased subject to mutual consent and satisfactory performance.

Age Limit:

18-25 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02.08.1998 and not later than 01.08.2005) for MTS and Havaldar in CBN (Department of Revenue).

18-27 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02.08.1996 and not later than 01.08.2005) for Havaldar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and few posts of MTS.

The upper age limit will be relaxable for SC, ST candidates by 5 years and for OBC candidates by 3 years. Candidates belonging to the PwBD category having a minimum of 40% disability or more will get 10 years‟ of relaxation in addition to the relaxation applicable to the categories mentioned above.

Educational Qualifications:

The candidates must have passed Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board as on or before the cut-off date i.e. 01-08-2023

Pay Package/Remuneration:

Candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 24,500 to Rs. 28,000 per month. The selected candidates would be paid Basic pay and DA, fixed/variable allowances @ 23% of Basic Pay, HRA/Lease, Contribution to PF, and Gratuity as per the Payment of Gratuity Act.

Apply Procedure:

1. Interested candidates fulfilling the above laid down eligibility criteria are required to apply online in the registration format available in the attached link.

2. While filling up the required details, candidates are advised to carefully and correctly fill the details of “Identity Proof”. Candidates are also advised to note the same and ensure the availability of the same Identity Proof as it will be required to be produced in original at later stages of selection (if called).

3. After filling up the required details under the “Fill/ Modify Application Form”, candidate should submit the application.

Documents to be submitted by candidates at the time of filling the application form: 

i) Appropriate certificate in support of Date of Birth

ii) Candidates are required to fill all the details on-line and upload all the relevant documents/ certificates as per the requirement

iii) Before applying their online application, candidates are advised to keep the soft copy of the documents i.e. (a) recent passport size photograph (b) 10th certificate (c) Certificates in support of Qualification (d) Caste/Category Certificate, SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/Disability Certificate etc. as applicable (e) Aaddhar Card No. (f) Mobile No., (g) email id (h) Scanned signature etc

iv) Caste /Tribe/ Community/ Disability/Economic status certificate in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS respectively. Candidates claiming reservation under any of the above categories are required to submit the certificate in the prescribed format.

v) If you have Post qualification work experience certificate/s from previous / current employer. Where current employment certificate is not produced, the Offer of current appointment, Employee ID proof and latest pay slip should be compulsorily enclosed. 

Selection Procedure:

The weightage distribution of various parameters of the selection shall be as under:

The recruitment process for the post of MTS will consist of Session-I and Session-II in Computer Based Examination (CBE). The performance of the candidate in Session-I will be evaluated first and performance in Session-II would be evaluated only if a candidate qualifies in Session-I.

Minimum qualifying marks in Session-I and as well as in Session-II of the Computer-Based Examination are as follows:

UR: 30%, OBC/ EWS: 25%, All other categories: 20%

Application Fee:

Fee payable: Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only). Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.

Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards, or through cash in SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.
